[Updated] Décolleté Massage (Massage Monday #547)

Even if your face looks perfect and gorgeous, your neck and décolleté can show a sign of age. This week I will show you a décolleté massage using lymph drainage so you can move any stagnation around the collarbone.

When you do a lymph drainage for the surface, you caress very lightly so you don’t need a lubricant but in case you apply more than enough pressure to cause a friction or for a hydration purpose, you can use oil or lotion if you do this on a bare skin. If you use a scented lubricant you can also enjoy an aroma therapy effect.

First, caress down the neck from the ear to the collarbone 10 times. Repeat on the other side.

Next, caress the shoulder from behind towards the front and center above the collarbone 10 times. Repeat on the other side.

Then, gently press the depression above the collarbone with your fingertips.

Caress outward from the center to the armpit 10 times. Repeat on the other side.

Finally, put four fingers under the armpit and circle to move and drain the lymph nodes. You can also pump to drain. Repeat on the other side.

The ideal collarbone angle is horizontally straight. If your collarbones are raised at the end, that means they are out of alignment, possibly from tight shoulders or bad posture. If that’s the case you need to correct your posture by dropping your shoulders, and open up your chest by pulling your shoulder blades in the back. It will make your neck look longer and beautiful rather than squashed with wrinkles.

If you tend to look at your phone a lot or have a round back, it’s very possible that your chest muscles are tight. In order to open up your chest easier, loosen the chest muscles under the collarbone with fingertips or the flat part of your fist. I add this before I drain from the center to the armpit.

It is a very good idea to combine this with the arm slimming massage that I showed you last week.
