Tummy Massage for the Holiday Season

The holiday season is here again. There will be lot of parties with foods and sweets and lot of temptations. I know I already ate so much for Thanksgiving. This week I’m going to show you the tummy massage that I will be doing this holiday season to prevent my tummy from getting any bigger.

First, it’s important to know the starting point. Grab your tummy and gently squeeze in sections across the tummy and feel in your hands where you are at, or how much you want to lose, or how much you don’t want to gain. You can look yourself in the mirror so it can be registered in your brain visually too. This already starts to loosen the fat.

Then circle your tummy 10 times in a clockwise direction. This improves the circulation and raise the qi (chi) level or energy level. If you really want to wake up the organs, tap the area.

Then put the fingertips together and place them perpendicular to the tummy. Starting from 1 o’clock make small circles about 5 times at each hour position around the belly button. You are digging deeper than the tummy circles but not too deep to create a real discomfort. For this reason do not do this when your stomach is full.

This helps to loosen the fat and cellulite especially if they have been neglected for a long time and they became hard. This also improves digestion which happens in a clockwise direction.

Then using the entire palm, stroke downwards towards the groin. There is one of the major clusters of lymph nodes called inguinal lymph nodes. This will help drain the toxins into these lymph nodes so that your body will do its wonders to get rid of the toxins out of the system.

As for combating the temptations, one thing I’m noticing for myself the cause of temptation is fear of missing out also known as FOMO. So instead of focusing on what I’m going to miss out by not eating sweets, I’m more focusing on the consequences that I will have to pay from eating those sweets because I hate dieting or restrictions. Always prevention is cheaper than paying the consequences. And this year I am doing that by grabbing my own tummy and asking the question to myself “Do I really want these sweets in my body right now?” And hopefully I will not go for that extra unnecessary bites.
