Hiccups occur when there are spasms in the diaphragm.

Here are two of several acupressure points that help stop the hiccups.

Press gently the space between the collarbone below the throat for 30-60 seconds or longer if necessary

The next one also works to prevent a sneeze to come out.

Press the area between the upper lip and nose against the gum for 30-60 seconds or longer if necessary
