Massage Monday 8-27-12: How to massage biceps – cross-fiber friction

This week I’ll show you two ways of massaging your own biceps. The biceps are located between the shoulder and elbow. You can grab the biceps with closed fingertips and let’s rest it on the arm rest so the receiving arm can relax. Move the muscle sideways. This is called cross-fiber friction where you massage perpendicular to the direction of the muscle fiber. You can go up and down between the shoulder and elbow.

When your massaging hand gets tired, you can just grab the biceps and move the receiving arm from the elbow. You can feel you are still getting the cross-fiber technique on your biceps.

I just wanted to show you that when you massage a body part, you don’t have to do all the work. Sometimes the receiving parts can do the work.

Happy Massaging!
