Massage Monday 8-20-12: Acupressure points for insomnia – how to sleep better

This week I’ll show you four acupressure points for insomniacs or the people who have difficulties with sleep. Sleep problems can be caused by various reasons such as stress, anxiety, pain, high caffeine or high sugar in your diet. It’s the best if you can get to the cause and heal the cause but in the meantime you can improve your sleep with these acupressure points.

H7 – On the crease right below the wrist bone in line with the little finger. This is an acupressure point that relieves anxiety and calms you down.

P6 – Two and a half finger from the wrist crease in the middle of the forearm.

Hold these points for one minute each as you breathe deeply. Change side and repeat.

Third Eye/GV24.5 – between the eyebrow on the forehead.

CV17 – On the breast bone four fingers up from the base of the breast bone.

You can hold these points together for one minute as you breathe deeply.

Hope this helps. Also getting a massage definitely helps you sleep better so go get your massage.

Happy Massaging!
