First of all, I have to make a correction from last week. I had a typo on the type of the lavender that should be used for minor burn and sunburn. It was Lavandula Angustifolia, not Lavendula Angustifolia. Sorry about that. Also, when you use an essential oil bottle, instead of shaking it, you can just flip it and the drops will come out. This way you can avoid the unwanted splash of the oil. Thanks to my Aromatologist expert for pointing them out.
This week I’ll share “Hi and Bye” which is what I do in my massage practice. When you massage someone you massage the body by sections whether it’s a big section or small section. When I move from one section to another, I say hi to the area by touching the area that I’m going to massage first instead of massaging right away. It’s like I’m introducing myself with my touch before I work on the area. That way the receiver’s body knows what’s coming and gets to prepare for the massage. Then when I’m done with the area I say bye to the area again by gently touching the area that I just massaged before moving onto the next section.
If the receiver is facing down or facing up with the eye pillow covering their eyes they can’t see what’s going on. So I believe adding little something like this hi and bye with appreciation will help relax the receiver’s body and mind and make a difference in the entire massage experience. I just wanted to share that with you.
Happy Massaging!
