Neck and shoulders carry lot of stress and massage really helps, but sometime you just have to do it yourself. This week I’m going to show you 3 ways to massage your own neck.
1. Bring the right hand across the body and grab the left side of the neck. Tilt your neck forward and to the side. Curl your fingers and pull the neck muscles downward. Use the entire arm not just the finger strength to pull the neck muscles downward.
You can go up and down all the way between the neck and shoulder. If you find a tight spot you can curl your fingers even more and dig in with the fingertips. Or you can hold the spot and move your neck from side to side.
2. Bring the right hand behind the neck and grab the left side of the neck. Again with the curled fingertips, grab the left neck muscles. Tilt the head forward and pull the neck muscles downward this way. Again you can go up and down the neck and if you find a tight spot you can dig in with the curled fingertips or hold the spot and move your neck.
3. The last one is simply grab the neck muscle with your palm and squeeze your palm as you go up and down the neck. If you want to target the muscles closer to the spine, use your thumb and closed fingers to squeeze.
Switch your hand and do the right side.
Happy Massaging!
