The magic touch – couples massage
Feeling good on the outside is an important factor in your general happiness and well-being on the inside.
First up is Yasko Kawamura, a Licensed Massage Therapist in Orange County, CA. Yasko runs courses to teach couples how to massage each other.
Do you like massage?
Usually people love getting massage but not giving massage. Why? Most likely because they quickly run out of things to do or hurt their hands and fingers giving massage. As much as I love massaging people, I love teaching Couples Massage. I teach couples tips and techniques on how to massage each other at home.
Because I want people to use the skills anywhere, anytime, what I teach is based on Shiatsu and Thai Massage which do not require massage table or massage chair. Nobody, not even a massage therapist, takes a massage table to a vacation. Right body mechanics and the use of massage tools besides your thumbs (ex. knuckle, forearm, elbow, etc.) are very important in making massage giving easier while avoiding injuries.
Touch is a powerful communication tool. The quote “Touch can communicate more love in five seconds than words can in five minutes” says it all. Sometimes a big hug or gentle rub in the back says more than you can articulate. Right touch promotes deeper connection, intimacy, and nurturing relationship. Through casual touch such as massage I want couples to have more opportunity to touch each other, have fun, feel good at the physical level taking care of each other’s knots, and enjoy each other at the spiritual level.
Couples Massage that I teach is non-sexual. However, as my friend Sex Therapist straightforwardly said “Couples Massage is a great foreplay!” It doesn’t have to be but it can be. It is completely up to you how you use it. Since I’m a legitimate Licensed Massage Therapist I draw a clear line. My class is conducted clothed just as traditional Shiatsu and Thai Massage are performed. Touch causes a production of oxytocin, a.k.a. bonding hormone, especially in women. Oxytocin then causes more desire to be touched. Therefore, I’m not surprised if massage leads to sex.
Who benefits from Couples Massage?
Couples who want to take their intimacy to the next level or simply have fun with each other. Your current intimacy level may be sizzling hot, warm, cold, or N/A. If you have the desire and willingness to improve or spice up the relationship, you will benefit from this new way of communication. I also cover verbal communication to get the massage you want without hurting your partner’s feelings.
How about a gift of touch? Instead of one-time only spa gift certificate, Couples Massage makes a great gift that keeps on giving for your massage-loving partner for Valentine’s, birthday, anniversary, Christmas, in fact any occasion can be special. Happy Massaging!
