It’s almost Thanksgiving time again. For some people, Thanksgiving gathering can be not so much fun or even very upsetting for whatever the reasons. This week I’m going to show a simple way to change and uplift your mood.
When you get upset, look up at the ceiling or the sky and take several deep breaths. If you are worried about the lines on your forehead, look up from the neck. When you look down it’s easy to think negatively but when you look up it’s harder to think negatively. +Here’s a bonus. Add a smile to your face. Studies show that when you smile even if it’s fake it produces a feel good hormone called serotonin. Serotonin helps you to be more cheerful and withstand stress. Use a pencil to force a smile if necessary. However this can make you look stupid so I would excuse yourself to the bathroom and do this in your privacy. And guess what. 90% of the Serotonin goes to your digestive system to help eliminate so smile a lot when you overeat. You can also combine this with pressing the acupressure point to calm down which is in the middle of your palm.
Here’s another tip. The source of upset is simply the gap between your expectation and reality. So evaluate where your expectation is coming from and see if it’s worth spending your precious energy on your upset feeling and pressing your expectations.
Over the years I’ve done acupressure points for things related to Thanksgiving and holiday season so I’m going to compile it in the playlist hereAcupressure for Holiday Season. So far I have videos for things like how to control appetite, acid reflux, indigestion and bloating, how to wake up, how to reduce stress and irritability, and constipation.
If you have any other requests please let me know. Thanks for watching. I’ll see you back next week. Feel free to comment below and please don’t forget to subscribe. Have a Happy and Cheerful Thanksgiving!
