As you age you want to keep your lower body strong and lean because when your lower body gets weaker, you may lose your balance and you may fall and break your bone and you may be hospitalized and bed-ridden and you lose more muscles. You don’t want that.
This is my dream when I’m 80.
This week I will show you an easy way to open up your hip joints quickly under 1 minute. If you have tight hip joints, like me, try this and let me know if you see any difference.
If you have any injuries or issues with your hip joints, don’t do this. In fact, don’t do anything that causes you pain. Do this only if you are healthy and able.
Sit on the floor in a butterfly position with your soles of your feet together about a fist away from your crotches. Check how far your knees are off the floor. Mine is about 2 fists on both sides.
Now sit in a chair. Bring your right heel up to your left knee. And go down at a count of five, five times. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Last one. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
Just move your right heel down along the shin bone to the ankle.
Switch side. Bring your left heel to your right knee. And slide down the shin bone to the ankle. Do it five rounds. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
Now go back to the floor again and sit in a butterfly position. Check how far your knees are from the floor. Mine is about a fist off the floor now. Isn’t this interesting?
