Per a viewer’s request this week I’m going to show the acupressure points for itchiness from mosquito bites. When you get a mosquito bite you can mark it with X or even hashtag #mosquitosucks literally. But these are only temporary. The itchiness will return after a while.
LI 11 – The first point is on the elbow. Bend your elbow and it’s at the end of the crease. This is called Large Intestine 11. This is one of the effective points for mosquito bites but this is also a reference point so remember this point.
Now raise your arm to the side. You see there are two depressions on the top of the shoulder. Point to the front depression. Now connect these two points. Right in the middle there is a depression. You can find it from the top or you can find it from the bottom. When you hit the spot it is painful so that’s how you know. Press this point with a hooked thumb for 10 seconds at a time until the itchiness is gone. Now this one is one of the points that are not on the major 14 meridians and I could not find the English name for it. So just know the location. You can try on the other side too.
You can also try the Large Intestine 11 with a hooked thumb perpendicular to the elbow on both sides.
LU 2 – Another point you can try is in the depression under the clavicle. Find your clavicle. Follow just below the clavicle towards the shoulder and at the end there’s a depression. This is called Lung 2. You can try on both sides.
Try these points as you breathe deeply until the itchiness is gone.
