This week I will show you two acupressure points for insomnia on each foot.
The first one is right in the middle of the heel. This is called insomnia point and it’s not on the major meridians. The heel can be tough and it’s hard to press with your fingers or thumb so press it with something harder like your index finger joint. If you have a golf ball, step on it or roll it on the floor. Do not bend your ankle or lift your toes because your shin muscles will get tired very quickly. Repeat on the other side.
The second one is in the middle of your foot. It’s where the color changes from the ball of foot. This is called Kidney 1 or KD 1. Press this point again with the index finger joint, a hooked thumb, or overlapped thumbs. It becomes easier if you bring your toes towards you. Or a golf ball. Repeat on the other side.
If you have two golf balls, you can do both sides at the same time.
Since you are trying to sleep, you can do these on the bed or floor too. Again, don’t lift your foot to save your shin muscles. To make it stable, put the other foot on top and just press with the weight or move the top foot to roll the bottom foot over the golf ball. You can do this on both points once you know the locations. Repeat on the other side
Stimulate these points for as you breathe deeply until you feel relaxed and hopefully fall a sound sleep. Deep breathing definitely helps you to relax. I have another video on 4-7-8 Breathing Technique that you can combine with the acupressure. I will include the link in the description.
Thanks for watching. I’ll see you back next week. Make it a great week. Feel free to comment below and please don’t forget to subscribe. And click on the bell so you’ll be notified when my video is up and out.
