Acupressure Points for Carpal Tunnel and Wrist Pain (Massage Monday #555)

Last week I shared a link to the acupressure points for wrist pain and carpal tunnel, but it was from 7 years ago and it was very unbearable so I’m going to do an unpdated version with little bit more information.

This week I’m going to show five acupressure points for a wrist pain or carpal tunnel syndrome. There are five acupressure points but I’m gonna pair them up into three sets so it’s easy to remember and practice.

大陵 (PC 7) & 陽池 (TH 4) The first one is on the inner wrist crease, right in the middle there is a depression. This is called Pericardium 7 or PC7. And On the other side, again on the outer wrist crease there is a depression in the middle. This is called Triple Heater 4 or TH 4. Hold these points for one minute as you breathe deeply.

内関(P 6) & 外関(TH 5) The second set is three finger widths below those points. This is called Pericardium 6 or PC 6. And again on the other side three finger widths below. This is called Triple Heater 5 or TH 5. Hold these points for one minute as you breathe deeply.

陽谿 (LI 5) The last one is below the thumb on the outer wrist crease. To be more specific it’s between the two tendons that are visible when you open your thumb. This is called Large Intestine 5 or LI 5. Press this point for one minute as you breathe deeply.

When you press do not press hard to cause pain which defeats the purpose of acupressure. You are not introducing new pain to cover the existing pain. You press the acupressure points to alleviate pain by stimulating these points. Let me know how these points work for you.
